Traditional Day : Celebration of cultural gene death?
Diwali time! From school to officers, look all around. You will find one or another day celebrated as Traditional Day. We wear and showcase our traditions. And then again, traditions go into closet for one more year! 🙂
Traditions (How we eat, what we wear and how we live) are outcomes of 1000s of years of churning our ancestors did while adjusting with the environment. They are not static. Highly dynamic in nature. They are foster mother, protecting us from obvious environmental challenges.
Just like genes in cells, they are codified instructions and ancestors’ blessings. Habits that when followed, provides healthy peaceful life.
What has happened to them? Their scope is now limited to one day showcase/display! 🙂
Great loss to the community as obvious benefits of specific food, clothes and habits are lost!
Google and find out “What happens when genes go wrong?”
Traditions are genes. More than genes, they are mother. May mother live and take care of us forever. May we worship traditions as mother daily and not confine them to specific day! 🙂
Dhoti, Kurta, Saree, Pagdi, Sweets, Festival meals – Revive and protect. Not limited to specific day! Every day! (y) They are designed to help us!
