Modern cities are energy guzzlers. Epic consumers. Worst polluters They consume without thinking about giving back. And epicenters of pandemics!
So what? Do we return back to stone age?
Well, hell no. Idea of Nagar(नगर) or Pur(पुर) is better than modern cities. We don’t need to go to stone age for it.
Localization and decentralization of life style is a need of the hour. नगर and पुर were city centers where good exchange used to happen. Communities engaged in trade (and their supporting communities) live there. That’s it. No more centralization of political power around cities.
