स्त्री हि मूलमपत्यानां स्त्री हि रक्षति रक्षिता।
सर्वाश्रमाणां प्रथमं गृहस्थत्वमनिन्दितम्॥
– अष्टाङ्गसंग्रहः शरीरस्थानम् अध्याय १-६
“If women are safe & protected, society will remain protected. Entire society’s backbone is grihastha ashram (married couples). And married couples’ backbone is mother. “
If we fail to respect mother and motherhood, there is no scope for society’s revival. We will further be pushed to hell!
First and foremost – modern females are brainwashed by media and popular culture and they don’t really feel need to become mother. They become mother because family forces them. They give more priority to either career or own beauty. Not all of them but this is the trend. They delay pregnancy.
On other hand, not only husband and family, but we as a society also fail to respect motherhood. From junk food to pollution to burden of working in stressful work-environment, we hardly respect motherhood.
Kids are born accidentally. Without any planning. Except some physical parameters like vitamins and folic acids, we hardly care for other needs of mother. Even expectant mothers are not aware about value of their stage i.e. pregnancy and post-pregnancy.
And what I quoted is culture of this land. And you blame culture for recent crimes against women? It is not rooted culture; it is modern western mindset that is doing the harm to societal values and disrespect for women.
