Not all movies are produced for box office hit and cater entertainment needs. Some of them are produced to generate opinions. Some to grab international acclaim. Some to program and control mass-psyche by mind viruses.
Except profit-making, all purposes are delicate and quite dangerous in long run future of the society and the Nation if the mind virus propagated is against the sovereignty of the Nation.
Unfortunately, day by day, I see breaking-India forces are using Bollywood as a platform to play with Indian-psyche. And sadly, commoners or the middle class are now fully under their control.
Entertainment for mass is not new for our society. Annual Ram-leela for example or all dance forms from various regions.
Central theme of mass-entertainment (As per Natya shashtra) was always to rejuvenate tired minds (due to total commitment to grihasthi) and re-instill principles of dharmic living by audio-visual demonstration. The life-degenerating or life-decaying forces were never glorified. Sickness of mind was shown won and triumphed. Relative goodness win. Sattva and Rajas glorification.(Based on target audience)
