We ,more or less, all are beasts in human form. Two qualities that restricts us becoming human are Anger and Lust. No worship, no meditation, no sadhna will bear fruits unless these two beasts are alive in you. Sacrifice them.
काम & क्रोध – दोनों विध्नकारी पशुओका बलिदान करके उपासना करनी चाहिए|
इन्द्रिय रूप पशु का वध करें ।
Although anger and lust can become active any time of the year, during monsoon, changes in our environment are such (mainly lack of Sun exposure) that they intensify these two beastly qualities. Observe around – why there are so many revolutions/agitations in the month of August. 🙂 Why monsoon is deemed as season of lust by Bollywood? 🙂
It is स्वभाव or nature of this season (seasons when दक्षिणायन of the sun happen) to spur आसुरी शक्ति of human mind during this time.
And नवरात्रि is the time when we can worship eternal form of Energy to suppress beasts within.
In fact, there are 5 Navratri(s) in one year but we hardly pay attention to celebrate even two major Navratri(s) Chaitra Navratri and Sharad Navratri.
Since परम्परा of identifying beasts like काम & क्रोध् and scarifying them for the greater good of the society does not happen, we have living beasts around. Pervert pedophiles to rapists to murderers to suicide attempters.
राम (ह्रदय सम्राट – अयोध्या निवासी – The one that rules our heart) – सीता ( शक्ति trapped in Muladhara chakra but freed by राम , हनुमान & वानरसेना ) , हनुमान & वानरसेना ( महाप्राण & मरुतगण i.e. micro organisms living in body) – they all together can control beasts of mind.
This year, when you receive “Happy Vijaya Dashami!” greetings, think about celebration of success of killing beasts within! And start preparing for real Vijay within 🙂
If you are living at Sea shore, you have certain life style and habits. Same goes with different terrains and locations. Modern doctors in India, read western journals and unifies health parameters for Indians and generalized their life style. Some of them have started suggesting ‘Eat More Often, Lose More Weight’ funda to locals in my city(Of course, they have now good Googling skill to access such facts from some US university research).
What a pseudo-scientific way of consulting! This is the price society pay for having urge to for blind globalization of life-style and synthetic cultural unity.
Generalization and synthetic unification of life style kills you earlier than expected. If you don’t wear cotton in Himalaya, The Pashmina and the Shahtush shawls in Rajasthan, why do you eat anything and everything everywhere? Tribals in this sense are intelligent. They know what to eat when and where. With terrain, season also play vital role in food selection. Care to take care.
Sit with your grand-father, he knows better about how to live in your terrain best.
Each story has hidden meaning if we learn to decipher. There is popular story known in our cutlure about Avtar Krishna and Demon Putna. And how baby Krishna kills the demon Putna.
The word “Pūtanā”, broken as “Pūt” (virtue) and “nā” (no) means “devoid of virtue”. Another explanation derives “Pūtanā” from “Pūta” (purifying), thus meaning “she who purifies”.Putana (Sanskrit: Pūtanā, lit. “putrefaction”) is a Matrika, who is killed by the infant-god Krishna.
In reality, Putna is a childhood sickness. Often due to post-delivery stress, mother’s milk become vitiated and imbalance of Dosha (Kapha, Pitta, Vayu balance) happens. More often in the case of first time mothers. If child’s mother cannot feed (in case of Krishna, mother was not able to feed), foster-mother feed. If this foster-mother’s intentions are not good, has no love for the child, milk becomes poison. And Putna arrives to kill or hamper the growth of the child.
Due to drinking such milk, infant’s body’s Vayu is aggravated and so infant suffers from Lack of sleep, diarrhea & constant thrist and constant crying. That is Putna.
If not taken care, infant dies. This is one of the primary cause of infant mortality.
Baby-Krishna could survive such vitiated milk. And that is how he killed the Putna!
Pippali and trifala churna with ghee and honey.
Needless to mention that Krishna was living with Nanda the Cow expert. So he must have got this treatment immediately. And since he took birth with perfect body, it was easy for him to fight against poisoned milk.
Things to take care:
1) Never give ghee and honey in same quantity i.e. 1 ml ghee + 1 ml honey = this is not preferable.
2) Purity of the sources. Ghee prepared from ethically procured milk and prepared by churning. Honey procured ethically without harming bees.
This is the reason, feeding mother should never take stress of any kind. She should be always cheerful and stress-free. Her food should be rich and wholesome prepared by someone who has highest love for both newly became mother and infant. And so post-delivery, new mother prefers to live with her mother. 🙂
I may be connected to 600+ here and may be 1000+ in other online/offline networks but that is not the real Karma kshetra. I don’t expect any change from these networks.
My real karma kshetra is really really limited. Limited to two. Yes, two of my best friends is where I experiment my thoughts, whom I demonstrate changes in living. Even these two friends do not know that they are the chosen ones by me. They don’t even realize that their friendship with me slowly transforming us, they and me. These two friends have their own small network of two best friends. All in silent transformation with high respect for each other.
No matter how good writer you are, how good orator you are, your impact will be limited. Even Avtar’s impact was limited. Arjun and Udhdhva. Hanuman and Lakshman.
If you really want to change the society, start with self. Demonstrate it to your best friends. Just two of them who are most close to your nature and inclination. Inspire them to follow the same. That is how human chain will be built. That is how critical mass will emerge. That is how we can have larger enough tribe of साधु. That is how we can urge Avtar to emerge from us.
Descent – अवरोहण is very motivating event. It is motivating because infinity chooses to take a form. Unfortunately, this divine and act of strength is being converted into act of effete by us. चमत्कारवाद of waiting for him to come and abolish all problems in flash. With such impotent waiting, without demonstrating his will in action, he will never Descent.
Be साधू. Help others to become साधू. Let here be critical mass of साधू tribes. Force him by your love for him and his way of living so that he must Descent for साधूनां परित्राणाय.
If साधू (=Human with सरलवृत्ति) are not in majority, why would he feel need for recovery or preservation from loss or danger of साधू ?
To invite him, first complete his task. Be साधू , demonstrate साधू वृत्ति to only two. Your own Arjun and Udhdhva. Your own Hanuman and Lakshman.
Western Superhero -> “I am capable enough of doing everything. I can save the world. I am center of the universe. I can destroy all evils.”
Our Superhero -> He takes the driver’s seat. He navigates. He directs. He inspires. He believes in collective actions. He believes in awakened mass. To his best friend, he says: “Do not become a coward, O Arjuna, because it does not befit you. Shake off this trivial weakness of your heart and get up for the battle, O Arjuna.”
Rama was capable to slay Ravana alone but he did not. He did Nation-wide Van-yatra, awakened the mass, took their help and collectively fought.
Look at the go-vardhan picture. It is not just Krishna that is participating.
This universe runs by collective actions. Even Avatar demands it.
So when your child is raised by the stories of Batman and Superman, it is difficult to instill this valuable learning about collective actions. And child may develop false delusion of super-ego.
I would any day prefer stories of Rama and Krishna over Batman and Superman.
Everyone is talking about probiotic food nowadays. Sadly, this awareness is mostly limited to two jargon 1) Probiotic 2) Prebiotic
Let us try to understand, what they are!
Probiotics are live microorganisms that live in gastrointestinal (GI) tract and are beneficial for their hosts and prevent certain diseases.
Prebiotics are non‐digestible food ingredients that beneficially affect the host by selectively stimulating the growth and activity of probiotic bacteria in the colon. All dietary prebiotics and/or dietary fiber provide the physiological and beneficial effects and, therefore, are considered as essential nutrients.
In post antibiotic obsession era, everyone is now praising microbes. But no one is talking about microbes sustenance medium. Healthy bacteria survives when their environment is potent to provide them continuous nutrition.
Prebiotic – this is where desi zebu cattle milk plays wonder. It is potent prebiotic.
गौ माता दूध पिलाती है, उस दूधसे संतृप्त हो मरुत वीर रथसंचालक (वेगवान) बनते है|
As you read translation, only desi Gau mata’s A2 milk is potent enough to provide them driving force ( रथसंचालक). If such potent medium is not provided (like many Vegan friends find alternative solution in Vegan Dahi made up using coconut or badam or any other nuts) to them, health bacteria may die soon, before reaching to their destination i.e. GUT. Dead probiotic means more danger for digestive track! More efforts to clean the track! Acidity! Ulcer!
Probiotics promote gut health through stimulation, rather than suppression, of the innate immune system. Our first lines of defense are digestive chemistry and innate immunity.
For a probiotic to work it must arrive alive in the colon. They arrive alive only when they have enough food while travelling and are acid proof (Protected from gastric acids). It has been recommended that food containing probiotic bacteria should contain at least 10^6 live micro organisms per g or mL at the time of consumption to have protective effects such as maintenance of normal intestinal micro flora, enhancement of the immune system, reduction of lactose intolerance and anti-cancer activity.
Along with that probiotics should resist the natural barrier of high acidity and bile content in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and show their survivability and activity in the colon.
Only Desi Gau milk based fermentation has both powers. (Do your experiments if you have doubts).
Which Desi Gau milk?
या शर्धाय मारुताय सवभानवे शरवो.अम्र्त्यु धुक्षत |
या मर्ळीके मरुतां तुराणां या सुम्नैरेवयावरी || Rugved – Book 6 – Hymn 48 – Verse 12
Gau who provides immortal nectar milk for powerful self-illuminating Marut(s); the one who provides happiness/comfort to swift-footed(quick runner) Marut(s), that divine Gau comes to your home only by glorious efforts and actions.
Gau mata can give such nectar milk only when she is worshiped by brave men doing selfless glorious acts for society. Gau seva for selfish motives is not desirable. So if you purchase milk from professional gau shala, you will still will not avail full benefits of nectar. You first need to worship Gau mata whose milk you want to avail. Without worship, you cannot connect with her. Without connecting with her, it is not possible to receive her blessings.
Krishna is Krishna due to Gau Mata Seva and Worship. Do we follow him? 🙂
Fundamental fallacy in dairy model is: disconnect between mata and son. Mother can foster best prasad (milk, urine, dung), only when she is taken care best! Factory model of dairy don’t yield benefits described here.
No ritual of this land ends without Prasad. No Prasad without Panchamrita (पञ्चामृत). It is a mixture of five foods used in Hindu worship and puja, usually honey, sugar, milk, yogurt, and ghee. I remember, how my mother used to stop me every time I start from home for exam. She would feed a spoon full of misti dahi (dahi and/or jaggery/sugar) as a शुकन token and my success in exams. In marriage ritual, पञ्चामृत is used profusely as it is major emotional event for both families. Mighty God Krishna is never seen without probiotic food.
Amazing science behind it! As I shared in last post about connection of CAT and अपशुकन in last post, here is the connection of पञ्चामृत and शुकन (Well-being or well-execution of future immediate actions). All thanks to tiny little microbes whom we are ready to kill everyday using anti-microbes weapons. 🙂
Lactobacilli bacteria in dahi reduces anxiety, chronic fatigue and depression. That is the magic of just one type of bacteria. Generally when dahi is fermented at home, it can have all beneficial bacteria. In पञ्चामृत, ghee and honey are potent probiotic food, increasing potency of altering our mood.
There is another bacteria in probiotic food: Bifidobacterium infantis. Probiotic treatment with B. infantis in a rat maternal separation model of depression resulted in a normal immune response, normal behavior, and normal levels of stress hormone in the brainstem compared to untreated rats. (As I’ve stated many times here, gut function affects all body parts, including the brain.)
So your mother or grandmother was more scientific than you and me who were laughing on them for blind rituals.
Things to take care for availing full benefits of probiotic Dahi
1) Fermentation must happen at home. Factory made Dahi will have bacteria from factory environment (other than Lactobacilli). Our home is full of bacteria suited for our body. So prepare dahi at home.
2) For probiotics to survive beyond acidic stomach pathway and establish themselves in GUT, milk, honey, jiggery used should be full of nutrition which bacteria can use for survival in harsh stomach conditions. Find Raw Desi Gay milk for it. Find chemical-free unprocessed honey and jiggery. Find unrefined non-white sugar.
3) Consume fresh Dahi. Do not refrigerate.
4) Prepare Panchamrit. Not exclusive dahi. Take in small quantity. For large quantity, prepare butter milk.
5) Avoid during monsoon due to unstable environment crowded so many different pathogens.
There are misconceptions propagated in our society that in ancient times of Bharat, Nation-states were always ruled by son of the King. This is not complete truth. Selection of successor was never exclusively birth based. As Kalidasa described precisely in this verse of raghuvaMsham.
“Then, the other seven brave princes of the Raghu family made Kusha – the eldest both by his being born first and by his possessing virtues…”
The king is honored because of his qualities. It is not birth that makes a king. He is not respected so much because of his ancestry, as for his prowess, strength and valor. There were of course instances where seat of king was claimed by mere birth. But we are not talking about failed states or average states. When we look at the history and learn the lesson from it, we must thrive for best of it. And the best is, selection of King by qualities.
To support Kalidasa’s words, we have Allahbad Pillar inscription which records that Samudra Gupta was chosen among other princes of the family who were rendered crestfallen.
Segregation is Natural. Every individual is unique and unparalleled. Every individual must be recognized, provided nurture and respected.
Nature teaches co-operation and co-existence. Love n harmony.
It is half truth when someone says that only Qualities are important and not Varna. Similarly, it is also half truth when someone says that only birth is enough to decide Kingly qualities.
Best way to summarize: Out of all Kshtriya clans, the most powerful (full of Kingly traits) becomes the King with Praja’s (Citizen’s) consent.
Relation between I and my bacterial friends (Bacteria residing on my body)
Being धार्मिक = Promote symbiosis but respect differences
The term biologists use for our relations with Bacteria is ‘Amphibiosis’. A symbiotic relationship that under certain circumstances can be helpful and other circumstances can be harmful, with the helpful and harmful aspects referring to either host or symbiont.
The term we use for this “Dharmic Relation”. In dharmic relation, each participant is following own dharma. Own duty towards the integrity of the cellular complex called ‘Body’. Sometimes, cells forget their duty. When cells forget duty, it is important for rest of the dharmic*** body cells to purge them. Sometimes, bacteria(s) do not do their duty so immune system flush them from body. Sometimes, by accident or bad habits of ours, non-compatible life forms enter into body. For example, कृमि worms. Most of the times, such non-compatible disturbances happen when our ego “I” forgets to perform duties. For example, eat food anytime of the day. Now this disturbs the digestion cycle. So cells are are over-stressed. Some of them die prematurely. To purge them, bacteria play role. And we call it bacterial infection. Except us, with free will, everyone else in the nature has instinct driven will or in other words, mother nature drives them. So they always remain धार्मिक. It is our Ego who has to remain धार्मिक to maintain the optimum body state. We can do it by following local culture since it is evolved life routine to maintain symbiotic relation with others in same environment.
***Dharmic (धार्मिक) = The one who follows own dharma.
*** What is dharma?
Dharma has the Sanskrit root dhri, which means “that which upholds” or “that without which nothing can stand” or “that which maintains the stability and harmony of the universe.” Dharma encompasses the natural, innate behavior of things, duty, law, ethics, virtue, etc. Every entity in the cosmos has its particular dharma — from the electron, which has the dharma to move in a certain manner, to the clouds, galaxies, plants, insects, and of course, man.
If you consider your bloodstream as sacred as Maa Ganga, you won’t allow any toxins to flow into it. If by mistake pollutants enters, you are vigilant enough to clean them at source and never allow to flow.
Unfortunately, Ganga is not relevant in our lives. We do not consider her sacred mother. We are least bothered about environmental pollution caused by our moronic life style.
Outer world is outcome of same mind who is least bothered about inner world. Bloodstream too flows like a gutter, full of toxins of chemical medicines, processed food, drugs, smoking, alcohol.
Both life streams demands purity for sustenance of life forms. Only society with self-destructive mentality will pollute them. We do have that trait of being self-destructive.
