More electrical activity is not always better. In fact, hyperactivity in the hippocampusā€”the brainā€™s memory centerā€”is an early sign of Alzheimerā€™s disease!

Neurons come in two main ā€œflavors,ā€ excitatory and inhibitory. When an excitatory neuron receives enough input from other excitatory neurons, it fires, passing that signal along its axon to partners downstream. Inhibitory neurons usually tell other neurons not to fire. They are less plentiful than excitatory neurons but more diverse. In some ways, they are the real brains of the system, the machines in the background that pace and coordinate a ceaseless hum of electrical activity. [1]

Today, our school education to summer camps, everyone is racing for super brain development šŸ™‚ Making neurons hyper active, always active. At the end of the day, loss.

They forget the value of resting neurons.
And brain is the medium for mind to act! – Be like Satvik or Rajsik or Tamasik!

Breaks between intellectual work, barefoot walk between physical work, play critical role in maintaining brain health for long!
