Charak Samhita is prescribing that one should not indulge in any activity without properly examining it.
Ayurveda is not only a medical science. It is also collection of golden time-tested life-management rules. This is second management tip given which has direct impact on the health in short as well as long term.
Modern science, modern management theories provide several tools. SWOT analysis being popular. Know your Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. But is this really what Charak Maharaj is asking us to do?
Examination should also happen keeping in mind whether the action is in favor of dharma or against the dharma. Whether the action is planned to be performed by this body as Yagya(यज्ञ) – Selfless act for the wellbeing of rest or selfish act. Examination should also happen keeling in mind if it is intellectually right or no (प्रज्ञा अपराध तो नहीं हो रहा न?).
In last part (https://prachodayat.in/workplace-habits-ayurvedic-prescription-part-1-act-now/) , Charak maharaj is asking to “Act now” without wasting time and in this, he is asking to examine everything! Education should equip us with the intellect to reduce the latency between “Examine” and “Act”. We also discussed in last part that, those who start thinking in terms of “How, where, what” for action, don’t procrastinate!
Examine, and act, now!
