7 years back, when I became active in Social Media and we still had Congress govt headed by Manmohan Singh, I wrote below note. Must be there somewhere in Facebook memories.
In 1990s, western world felt great environmental relief by safeguarding their land, water and air by transferring worse polluting industries to China and India,forgetting it is one world!
Pollution in India or China will affect all!
Earth is not like reductionist science you used to follow (newtonian)! Problem here is problem there, everywhere!
In India, we are so greedy that we often see short term growth and prosperity! 🙁
Couple of friends of my age in chemical industry died in 30s due to cancer. (I had deep wish to become chemical engineer…but then destiny landed me into this)
Problem will be worse because not only production of deadly chemicals is increased in highly population dense areas of the Earth but also the usage is increased manifold due to capitalist money-mongering.
Crisis we are going through is man-made. In earlier times, epidemics and pandemics used to follow war events. Now, we are raging war against mother nature daily!!
We must slowdown. Develop more and more forest food hubs. Local economy. Otherwise, this is just a beginning.

Manmohan Singh welcomes foreign countries to start pollution drives in India. World bank helps in building infrastructure.[1]
Decmber, 1991:
LAWRENCE SUMMERS, chief economist of the World Bank, sent a memorandum to some colleagues on December 12th.
“A clean and beautiful environment is a cultural privilege of a elite. Let them (Third world lesser polluted countries like India) eat the pollution and die.”[2]
