Artist in Bharat is no ordinary man. He or she is Sadhak by tradition and temperament, spiritually on much higher plane than a commoner.
साहित्य संगीत कला विहीन: , साक्षात पशु पुच्छ विषाण विहीन: ||
तृणम न खाद्न्नपि जीवमान: , तद भाग देयम परम पशुनाम ||
अर्थात
जो मनुष्य साहित्य , संगीत अथवा किसी भी अन्य कला से विहीन है , वो साक्षात पुंछ और सींगो से विहीन जानवर की तरह है । यह जीव घास तो नहीं खाता पर अन्न से जीता रहता है । ऐसे मनुष्य को परम पशुओं की श्रेणी में रखना चाहिए ।
Everyone had equal opportunity for self-realization. It was last 1000 years slavery that had created higher status for Brahmin and lower status for Shilpi, Chitrakar and others (and that is also limited to few regions only).
In Sanatana dharma, your occupation is for your salvation. All had equal opportunities based on their proclivity.
We have turned साहित्य into cheap Chetan Bhagat type novels, संगीत into degenerative chaos and कला as Bollywood. And so there is no peace and salvation in the society.
In reality, we all are not Brahmin, Vaishya, Kshtriya or Shudra. 🙂 Mleccha is the term. Confused and not focused. Engineers go for MBA. MBA starts selling vegetables. Doctors run restaurants. 😀 Together, we appreciate cheap attempts of cricket and Bollywood as art! 😀 😉 Claps!
There was no growth and GDP but there was peace and stability. 🙂 We now have GDP and growth but no peace. Think about it. What type of world we are planning to give as legacy? Not even 1% improvement?
