Sometimes, it is really felt that we are living in Kaliyuga, a time span of utter chaos, ignorance and falseness.
Every year, post monsoon, you see Municipal Corporation performs anti-mosquito fogging. Now this is good proactive step to avoid dengue and malaria. Very well appreciate. Unfortunately, this noble act is driven by ignorance and short-sightedness.
Let us look at the chemicals used in anti- mosquito fogging.
1) Scourge – synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. This affects nervous system. They have been linked with liver and thyroid problems and they can also interfere with the immune and endocrine systems.
2) Anvil – This is carcinogen. Promotes tumor growth.
3) Permethrin – Again a neurotoxin. It is more acutely toxic to children than to adults.
4) Malathion. – One more highly toxic to aquatic invertebrates and amphibians.
While fulfilling short term goal of avoiding dengue and malaria, we invite long term disabilities. Although everyone is at risk from exposure, the most vulnerable groups are children, pregnant women, the elderly, patients undergoing chemotherapy, and people with compromised immune systems.
Children can be particularly sensitive to exposure to chemicals due to their small body size, immature immune systems and rapid growth cycles. (We had to close all doors and windows when mandatory fogging was performed in our area due to 20 months old son at home. Soon after fogging was performed, I performed Havan to purify air).
On the other hand, there is ageless ritual performed during Navratri i.e. Havan. In Havan, along with most potent herb Turmeric, many herbs, rice, Gau gung cake, Gau ghee is sacrificed. When Gau dung and ghee is burnt together, abundance of prana is spread in environment. As per the research, this controls the bacteria proliferating in absence of oxygen. As per one research, it is observed that 1 h treatment of medicinal smoke elimination by burning wood and a mixture of odoriferous and medicinal herbs (havan sámagri =material used in oblation to fire all over India) on aerial bacterial population caused over 94% reduction of bacterial counts by 60 min and the ability of the smoke to purify or disinfect the air and to make the environment cleaner was maintanied up to 24 h in the closed room. Corynebacterium urealyticum, Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens, Enterobacter aerogenes (Klebsiella mobilis), Kocuria rosea, Pseudomonas syringae pv.persicae, Staphylococcus lentus, and Xanthomonas campestris pv.tardicrescensin the open room even after 30 days is indicative of the bactericidal potential of the medicinal smoke treatment.
And above all, THERE IS NO TOXIC SIDE EFFECTS!
And yet, you see modern ignorant youth making fun of rituals and embracing faulty science in name of modernity! Absolute darkness and confusion! May God save them from ignorance!
Height of foolish and कुतर्क is when so called sarcasm expert spread venom out ignorance like this:

Poor guys! They don’t realize value of vaporized food/medicine spread in environment. Weather science is out of reach for this magicians of words. Spirituality? It is alien subject for them. Society pays the price of following such कुतर्क.
I suggest – कुतर्क स्वाहा! (Kill illogical rational conclusions by subjective experiences. Go beyond words and validate all claims!)
Judge your rituals with open mind and once you are convinced, do not wait! Act!
