Role of sports and exercise in child planning

ExervciseGeneration

There is popular song in gujarati. Its lyrics goes like this:
“દીકરો મારો લાડકવાયો દેવ નો દીધેલ છે..” (My son/daughter is blessing of Deva).

do we realize what the word देव/Deva mean here? What are the qualities of Deva?

देव is derived form of दिवु धातु. So देव’s characteristics are tapped in meanings of दिवु dhatu.

As per Panini’s grammar, दिवु is क्रीडाविजिगीषाव्यवहारद्युतिस्तुतिमोदमदस्वप्नकान्तिगतिषु

1) क्रीडा – The one who consider life as a play is DEVA
2) विजिगीषा – The one who has winning attitude is DEVA
3) व्यवहार – The one who is excelled in communication, conducts, commerce, customs, civility is DEVA
4) द्युति – The one whose life is bright is DEVA
5) स्तुति – The one who can praise others(humans, animals, nature) genuinely is DEVA (Genuine praise is very vital part of positive psychology! Those who have studied HR subjects, must be knowing this)
6) मोद – The one who is constantly working for establishing delight in society/ecosystem
7) मद – The one who is able to take pride of self and at the same time can sacrifice it.
8) स्वप्न – The one who has dream/a lofty selfless goal to be meditated on for betterment of mankind
9) कान्ति – The one from whose life, spiritual splendor is constantly radiating.
10) गति – The one who is constantly changing, गमनशील.

The first character of Deva is क्रीडा . If we wish our next generation being blessed by Deva, playing sports and doing exercise is very critical before child planning! Then only it will justify the song lyrics! 🙂 Think about it! Share with teens and newly wedded couples planning for child!

We wish strong Bharat but we hardly work on it. Our present youth is trapped in web of delusion. For them, physical activity matters but as a passion. And it comes with all vices that consumes their body and mind. Many of them even stay away from any form of physical activities and are stuck in gadgets and entertainment obsession. This results into catastrophe, not only in their life but also in all upcoming generations.

May be, that is how decay of genes and strength happens in Kaliyuga.

If you wish your traits to be saved and pass on to next generation, play. Play and exercise for the sake of worship of your body. Not as passion or show-off or status-symbol. For the sake of selfless worship of body that matters not only for your existence but also for well-being of future generations!

Why bother about future generations!

Because they are the custodians of dharma! They are the ones who will protect dharma! And sustain life here and otherwise!

RNA-Dependent Intergenerational Inheritance of Enhanced Synaptic Plasticity after Environmental Enrichment

Highlights

  • Exercising male mice pass a cognitive benefit to their offspring

  • This phenomenon is mediated by altered expression of sperm RNA

  • Levels of miR212/132 in sperm play a key role in this intergenerational effect

Summary

Physical exercise in combination with cognitive training is known to enhance synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory and lower the risk for various complex diseases including Alzheimer’s disease. Here, we show that exposure of adult male mice to an environmental enrichment paradigm leads to enhancement of synaptic plasticity and cognition also in the next generation. We show that this effect is mediated through sperm RNA and especially miRs 212/132. In conclusion, our study reports intergenerational inheritance of an acquired cognitive benefit and points to specific miRs as candidates mechanistically involved in this type of transmission.

Does physical activity influence the health of future offspring?

Study finds an intergenerational benefit

Physical and mental exercise is not only beneficial for your own brain, but can also affect the learning ability of future offspring – at least in mice. This particular form of inheritance is mediated by certain RNA molecules that influence gene activity. These molecules accumulate in both the brain and germ cells following physical and mental activity. Prof. André Fischer and colleagues from the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Goettingen and Munich and the University Medical Center Goettingen (UMG) report these findings in the journal Cell Reports.

Baby wipes: Parental laziness inviting life-long allergy for kids

0
wipes
When I talk about going back to roots, many of my friends feel odd and raise eyebrows.
Read what doctors are suggesting. Focus on Red highlighted part.:

“Reduce baby’s skin exposure to the food allergens by washing your hands before handling the baby,” Cook-Mills said. “Limit use of infant wipes that leave soap on the skin. Rinse soap off with water like we used to do years ago.

Water and cotton cloth : Two best tools to take care babycare! We really damn don’t need fancy chemicals loaded solutions!!
Wipes were introduced to us by hospital when my son was admitted at age 7 days. I found it odd and unusual. Ever since I realize what this wipes are, we stopped using it. Very early in my son’s infant age. May be within few weeks.

Some parents feel pride in using it! I see it as sign of laziness! Laziness in parenting????

Some of us, being adult, travelling in air, dining in luxury hotel, have develop habit of using it!

Remember one thing: Smoking and tobbaco chewing causing cancer is old thing! There are more chemicals silently developing havoc in our body! Only breaking our obsession with western life and modernism will save us! Be wise, pause, think twice before adapting any new habit blindly!
I wrote and warned infant parents, not to use them! 5 years down the lines, studies are emerging with links with allergy and inflammation.

Iodopropynyl butylcarbamate(IPBC)  is a water-based preservative agent originally used in the wood and paint industries. Initially used as a water-based paint and wood preservative and then in metalworking fluids, its role has expanded into the more recent uses in cosmetic products.

It is contact allergen as well as causes inhalation toxicity.

Would you mind your beloved child to inhale toxins after defecation and urination?

IPBC is a suspected gastrointestinal and liver toxin, and is thought to present risks to human reproduction and development, having been linked to the potential for reduced fertility and increased risk of pregnancy problems. It’s a suspected teratogen, which means that it may increase the risk of birth defects.

Food allergy is linked to skin exposure and genetics

The factors contributing to food allergy include the genetics that alter skin absorbency, use of infant cleansing wipes that leave soap on the skin, skin exposure to allergens in dust and skin exposure to food from those providing infant care. Food allergy is triggered when these factors occur together.

So what are better alternatives for people who still want to use the toilet paper in their homes and baby wipes for their children or selves after bowel movements or even to freshen up? When choosing toilet paper, aim to purchase chlorine free, dye free, recycled and fragrance free. Often these companies are a fair trade company that vows to help the earth through recycling and conscious production and manufacturing of their paper products. Using a little warm water on the tissue before wiping or using a small squirt water bottle (mimicking a bidet) is a great alternative as well. As far as baby wipes go, try not to use them. If convenient, rinse your baby’s bottom in the bath/sink with warm water. If you must use a baby wipe, choose hypoallergenic, fragrance, alcohol, and dye free. Remember that our skin is the largest organ of the body and “drinks” whatever you smear, wipe, spray and rub into it.

Environment, Not Genes: Effect of Early childhood on Adult Genes variations

EarlyLife

It is after modern science dogma of gene-driven life, we Indians started ignoring real factors affecting our life. All factors summarize as one word “Environment”.

Early life experiences influence DNA in the adult brain

Modern education is designed to inject ideas and philosophy of church. So superficial that we start ignoring impact of environment on our self.

Very popular Chanalya’s verse suggest how environment during childhood plays critical role in adult life.

First 5 years at home. Next 10 years in resident school. 16+ in society where he or she will have to face the संसार!

Why? Because first 5 years (in fact first 6 years, before conception to age 5) is the time when maximum neuronal networks are developed. In next 10 years, there will be many associations made among neurons. All based on your experience and environment!

“We are taught that our DNA is something stable and unchanging which makes us who we are, but in reality it’s much more dynamic,” says Rusty Gage, a professor in Salk’s Laboratory of Genetics. “It turns out there are genes in your cells that are capable of copying themselves and moving around, which means that, in some ways, your DNA does change.”

What type of resident school?

A place full of trees and water bodies! Best in the laps of mother nature, on the banks of flowing river, surrounded by sacred grove! It is this time of the life which will help build best possible body and mind!

Not only this, we also believe in Sanskar(s). Mental environment and cure. We all take birth with past life’s karma storage and mental tendencies. Sanskar(s) help to purify child.

Here are the old notes on impact of terrain and region on intellect:

Importance of Sanskar

Prana-Apana , Grains and Sanskar

हनुमान तत्व & ब्रह्मचर्याश्रम

Now, read this latest research and get rid of modern fake dogma of gene-driven life. It is always environment-driven life.

Early life experiences influence DNA in the adult brain

www.salk.edu/news-release/early-developmental-experiences-influence-dna-in-the-adult-brain/

For at least a decade, scientists have known that most cells in the mammalian brain undergo changes to their DNA that make each neuron, for example, slightly different from its neighbor. Some of these changes are caused by “jumping” genes—officially known as long interspersed nuclear elements (LINEs)—that move from one spot in the genome to another. In 2005, the Gage lab discovered that a jumping gene called L1, which was already known to copy and paste itself into new places in the genome, could jump in developing neuronal brain cells.

The team had hypothesized that such changes create potentially helpful diversity among brain cells, fine-tuning function, but might also contribute to neuropsychiatric conditions.

“While we’ve known for a while that cells can acquire changes to their DNA, it’s been speculated that maybe it’s not a random process,” says Tracy Bedrosian, a former Salk research associate and first author of the study. “Maybe there are factors in the brain or in the environment that cause changes to happen more or less frequently.”

Entertainment Context: Passive or Active

Entertainment

Without any bias, try to contemplate on types of entertainment available to us in limited life period.

Passive vs Active.

Passive = your passive involvement. Outside fence. To clap and cheer. And if it is on TV, you cannot even feel the gist fully. More Ads than ever. Disconnect between mind and physical activities. Mind is over-used. Body- underutilized. No balance.

Active = you participate. You are on the ground. Your active involvement is required.

As we do SWOT analysis for every minute thing in professional life, do it for entertainment.

Keep sentiments and your passion aside. Be rational.

Which is better to spend life for? Isn’t life limited and precious?

3 hrs for passive cricket or football (or even Kabbadi on TV) or 3 hrs play with kids and friends?

Role Model Crisis : Shallow Actors vs Real Achievers?

RoleModel

“Oh your daughter looks like Kangana!!”
“You son dances like Hritik!”

In social circle, you often find friends and relatives praising your kids by comparing with actors! We feel great and demand dance or singing song from toddlers! 🙁

If you praise someone by comparing their look to shallow-hollow Bollywood/Cricket public figures, note that you are suffering from cheap Bollywood/Cricket mania.

Can’t you see anything more than face value?

Bravery, audacity, intelligence, steadfastness – no value? How shallow!

If you compare your kids with stupid actors, you are villain for them as you limit their growth prospects. Don’t do these crimes!

One of the traits of देवत्व , as per Panini sutra (देव -> धातु दिवु is क्रीडाविजिगीषाव्यवहारद्युतिस्तुतिमोदमदस्वप्नकान्तिगतिषु),is स्तुति – The one who can praise others(humans, animals, nature) genuinely is DEVA (Genuine praise is very vital part of positive psychology! Those who have studied HR subjects, must be knowing this)

If you want to praise someone, tell him that his/her concentration is like Vivekanand, his/her love for nation is like Subhashchandra bose and his/her conviction is like Bhagatsingh!

Can’t we find better role model than cheap actors/cricketers for your kids???

Not only your child! Society’s child, Nation’s child!

There is a fashion of putting new born child pics on social network. Parents call newborn as ‘My child’!

Dear parents,

Not only your child! Society’s child. Nation’s child. Mother Earth’s child! Don’t forget to instill National fervor, in between your selfish possessive love impulses for newborn. Train them to live selfless life.

Your friend,
Marut

” Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.”

Father, Oxytocin and Parenting

FatherParenting

Fathers are now industrial slaves. They are also entertainment and personal gratification slaves. Hardly get time to gel with kids. Forget about bonding. So oxytocin is always in scarce in blood.

For men, oxytocin function is less important, but it does have a role to play in moving sperm. It also appears to affect the production of testosterone in the testes.
A recent oxytocin study found that it is an important chemical messenger that controls some human behaviors and social interaction. It is oxytocin that triggers the bond between a mother and an infant, and it may also play a role in recognition, sexual arousal, trust and anxiety. Some research shows that the hormone may affect addiction and stress as well.

No wonder why so many teens now display anti-social behaviour. Autism or autism like symptoms are rampant.

First 5-7 years are very critical. If you want your child to grow as sensible citizen, shower your love, as much as possible.

Research

Intranasal oxytocin, but not vasopressin, augments neural responses to toddlers in human fathers

Fathers given boosts of the hormone oxytocin show increased activity in brain regions associated with reward and empathy when viewing photos of their toddlers, an Emory University study finds.

“Our findings add to the evidence that fathers, and not just mothers, undergo hormonal changes that are likely to facilitate increased empathy and motivation to care for their children,” says lead author James Rilling, an Emory anthropologist and director of the Laboratory for Darwinian Neuroscience. “They also suggest that oxytocin, known to play a role in social bonding, might someday be used to normalize deficits in paternal motivation, such as in men suffering from post-partum depression.”

The journal Hormones and Behavior published the results of the study, the first to look at the influence of both oxytocin and vasopressin — another hormone linked to social bonding — on brain function in human fathers.

A growing body of literature shows that paternal involvement plays a role in reducing child mortality and morbidity, and improving social, psychological and educational outcomes. But not every father takes a “hands-on” approach to caring for his children.

Brain & Mind Development : Why Gadget-free childhood?

0

kids_and_smartphones-100672283-primary.idge

Mind is a process.मन or to think or ‘minding – the process of thinking’. A Process that keeps Brain on the top busy, generating billions and more currents daily. A process can never be silent. A process will always be tense; a process means a turmoil. And mind is always moving from the past to the future. The past goes on being a burden on it, so it has to move into the future. This constant movement creates another tension within you. If you become too much conscious about it, you may go mad. Society trains your capacity into an actuality, it gives you a mind. That is why a Hindu has a certain mind and a Mohammedan has a different mind. Both are men, but their minds are different. A Christian has a different mind… These minds are different because different societies have cultivated them with different purposes, different goals. And so Child development is very important Nation building activity.

There is another process that goes on in heart. It is process of bliss. You can experience it only when you can slow down process of minding. Let Bliss work at higher priority than mind and feel the difference. If you read seer-scientist Patanjali’s Yoga, he begins with the same i.e. cessation of mind. Get the hint and work upon it.

Babies’ brains need stimulation to develop their full potential. Their best learning is from being highly attuned to human stimuli—interacting with your face, voice, and touch. Singing, talking, and reading to babies are all ideal ways of stimulating their senses.

Human stimuli without humans is not possible.

And what do parents and teachers do?

1) Video games, mobiles, tablets, laptops and TV consumes most of the productive time
2) Schools introduce digital mediums for teaching

Period of brain development is limited. Senses develop within first 10-12 years. Do not limit your kid’s potential. Keep them away from media and digital mediums. Educate their school management about neuroscience and ask them to get rid of tablet teaching asap. It is foolish technological fad, that’s it. No real long term benefits. Do not surrender to system for the better future of your kids and their society in future. 🙂 Take care.

TeenAge

Old note on parenting for teen age:

Right Age, Right Actions : No? Yes to Cervical cancer

This life is continuous uninterrupted journey. All our actions are recorded secretly (चित्रगुप्त या गुप्त चित्र) and passed on to next generation! Only selfish generation with think for self and never care about the future generations. Nothing but civilization blunder & societal suicide.

We are nothing but a link between past and future! Perform your duty well. Nurture your kids well so that they too can play their role efficiently.

Most important section of childhood is teen-age. Time when a kid is mature enough to know many things, developing layer upon layer on Ego in absence of right life-oriented education and a guide. This will turn them into yet another adult ready to be slave of master-slave system prevailing in the world.

We must act to break this chain. Read this research to realize importance of teen-parenting, role of resident Guru-centered schooling during teen age and

Adolescence and the next generation

Adolescent growth and social development shape the early development of offspring from preconception through to the post-partum period through distinct processes in males and females. At a time of great change in the forces shaping adolescence, including the timing of parenthood, investments in today’s adolescents, the largest cohort in human history, will yield great dividends for future generations.

https://media.nature.com/lw926/nature-assets/nature/journal/v554/n7693/images/nature25759-f1.jpg
https://media.nature.com/lw926/nature-assets/nature/journal/v554/n7693/images/nature25759-f1.jpg

Puberty marks a transition to adolescence and a life phase during which girls and boys acquire resources that are essential for becoming parents of the next generation. It also marks the beginning of reproductive life with a transition to functional gamete production. The preconceptional phase (that is, adolescence) varies markedly in length carrying implications for the acquisition of the social, financial and educational assets and nutritional, health and interpersonal risks that underlie intergenerational processes. The three months before conception is a time of male and female gamete maturation when parental exposures, including nutrition, obesity, substance use, stress, endocrine disruptors and physical activity may influence gamete structure and function. Periconception includes fertilization of the maternal and paternal gametes as well as the zygote and embryonic phases that are sensitive to the maternal nutritional and hormonal environment. There continue to be direct maternal effects antenatally mediated through the in utero environment and postnatally through nutrition (for example, breastfeeding) and the maternal–infant relationship. Direct paternal influences grow in the postnatal phase through the paternal–infant relationship and potentially through risk exposures, such as paternal tobacco use. Maternal and paternal health, behaviour as well as social and economic circumstances continue to have an indirect effect on offspring development in both antenatal and postnatal phases.
