With a pleasant surprise, I found 60 years old book on Ghatasthapana (Ghatasthapana is one of the significant rituals during Navratri. It marks the beginning of nine days Sadhana.). It had very beautiful print of Maa Bhuvneshwari.
This Navaratra, I decided to revere Maa Bhuvaneshwari!
सम्पूर्ण जगत या तीनों लोकों की ईश्वरी देवी भुवनेश्वरी नाम की महा-शक्ति हैं तथा महाविद्याओं में इन्हें चौथा स्थान प्राप्त हैं। अपने नाम के अनुसार देवी त्रि-भुवन या तीनों लोकों के ईश्वरी या स्वामिनी हैं, देवी साक्षात सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड को धारण करती हैं। सम्पूर्ण जगत के पालन पोषण का दाईत्व इन्हीं ‘भुवनेश्वरी देवी’ पर हैं, परिणामस्वरूप ये जगन-माता तथा जगत-धात्री के नाम से भी विख्यात हैं। पंच तत्व १. आकाश, २. वायु ३. पृथ्वी ४. अग्नि ५. जल, जिनसे इस सम्पूर्ण चराचर जगत के प्रत्येक जीवित तथा अजीवित तत्व का निर्माण होता हैं, वह सब इन्हीं देवी की शक्तियों द्वारा संचालित होती हैं। पञ्च तत्वों को इन्हीं, देवी भुवनेश्वरी ने निर्मित किया हैं, देवी कि इच्छानुसार ही चराचर ब्रह्माण्ड (तीनों लोकों) के समस्त तत्वों का निर्माण होता हैं। प्रकृति से सम्बंधित होने के कारण देवी की तुलना मूल प्रकृति से भी की जाती हैं। आद्या शक्ति, भुवनेश्वरी स्वरूप में भगवान शिव के समस्त लीला विलास की सहचरी हैं, सखी हैं। देवी नियंत्रक भी हैं तथा भूल करने वालों के लिए दंड का विधान भी तय करती हैं, इनके भुजा में व्याप्त अंकुश, नियंत्रक का प्रतीक हैं। जो विश्व को वमन करने हेतु वामा, शिवमय होने से ज्येष्ठा तथा कर्म नियंत्रक, जीवों को दण्डित करने के कारण रौद्री, प्रकृति का निरूपण करने से मूल-प्रकृति कही जाती हैं। भगवान शिव के वाम भाग को देवी भुवनेश्वरी के रूप में जाना जाता हैं तथा सदा शिव के सर्वेश्वर होने की योग्यता इन्हीं के संग होने से प्राप्त हैं।

- स्वभाव : सौम्य , राजसी गुण सम्पन्न।
- कार्य : सम्पूर्ण जगत का निर्माण तथा सञ्चालन।
- शारीरिक वर्ण : सहस्रों उदित सूर्य के प्रकाश के समान कान्तिमयी।
She reclaims humans from the grips of delusion. This results in a sea change in body chemistry and the psyche with the attainment of enlightenment.
भुवनेश्वरीध्यान
उद्यद्दिनद्युतिमिन्दुकिरीटां । तुंगकुचां नयनत्रययुक्ताम ॥
स्मेरमुखी वरदांकुशपाशां । भीतिकरां प्रभजेत भुवनेश्वरीम ॥
उदय कालीन सूर्य के समान जिनकी कान्ति है, चतुर्भुजी, त्रिनेत्री, पाश, अंकुश, वर व अभय की मुद्रा को धारण किये हुए हैं । ये भगवती सहज व शांत मुद्रा में नागछत्र से युक्त सिंहासन पर माया “ह”कार की मुद्रा में विराजमान होती हैं ।

अभय मुद्रा : Gesture of fearlessness
Gesture that is the gesture of reassurance and safety, which dispels fear and accords divine protection and bliss. The abhayamudrā represents protection, peace, benevolence and the dispelling of fear.
She is cosmos personified as Devi. I am sure worshiping her will enhance cosmic vision. And when the vision or दृष्टि is expanded, we naturally get rid of narrowness and illusions.
She is the void where things come into being. She is the intelligence shaping the world out of void.
Mantra
Her mantra is simple. Single syllable.

It is called Devi Pranava.
HRIM (pronounced Hreem) is the prime mantra of the Great Goddess and ruler of the worlds and holds all her creative and healing powers. HRIM governs over the cosmic magnetic energy and the power of the soul and causal body. It awakens us at a soul or heart level, connecting us to Divine forces of love and attraction. HRIM is the mantra of the Divine Maya that destroys the worldly maya. It has a solar quality to it but more of a dawn-like effect. It is charming and alluring, yet purifying . Through it we can control the illusion power of our own minds.
In Vedic terms HRIM is a mantra of the Sun, particularly in terms of illumination. It increases our aspiration and receptivity to Divine light, wisdom and truth. It opens the lotus of the heart to the inner Sun of consciousness. It is a mantra of the region of heaven or the consciousness space in which all the worlds exist.
