Barefoot walking is not just about the ion exchange, rough texture impact on body, it is also about breaking the seismic silence created by shoes, sheets, beds.
Seismic noise (the earthly vibrations) are used by many animals to detect the threat. However, for us, in this highly evolved human body, we don’t need them for threat detection. It does much more than mere threat detection.
I have seen, people preferring seismic silence for prolonged period on daily basis, suffer a lot from immune disorders, skin diseases, shukra dosha.
Our body needs those earthly vibrations (पृथ्वी प्राण). These subtle vibrations are gross form of पृथ्वी प्राण.
ये ग॑न्ध॒र्वा अ॑प्स॒रसो॒ ये चा॒रायाः॑ किमी॒दिनः॑।
पि॑शा॒चान्त्सर्वा॒ रक्षां॑सि॒ तान॒स्मद्भू॑मे यावय ॥
Human mind is often clouded by destructive elements(ग॑न्ध॒र्वा ), non-performance\procrastination(अ॑प्स॒रसो॒), non-giver\selfishness(अरायाः॑), thieves(किमी॒दिनः॑). And as per this sukta from Atharva-veda, पृथ्वी देवी can help controlling and managing asuric aspects of mind.
Seismic noise helps
अश्व॑ इव॒ रजो॑ दुधुवे॒ वि ताञ्जना॒न्य आक्षि॑यन्पृथि॒वीं यादजा॑यत।
म॒न्द्राग्रेत्व॑री॒ भुव॑नस्य गो॒पा वन॒स्पती॑नां॒ गृभि॒रोष॑धीनाम् ॥
Like the horse vibrates the dust with legs, mother earth’s continuous vibrations, protects all those who rely on her for existence.
Don’t try to find science here. This is one of those early morning sparks.
Next time you practice barefoot walk\run, learn to be more sensitive to sense the mother’s hidden language.
Add this ritual in your routine – be standstill barefoot for 10-15 mins and sense the vibrations. Try it on different natural surfaces and pay reverence to mother for helping us by all modes of Seismic activities.
PS: We have sold our double-bed last month. Entire family sleeps on the floor. Its been 2.5 years I wore shoes. Never miss a chance to go grounded besides daily exercise routine. Doing it out of sheer love and need to connect with mother and not some short term health benefits. Health benefits are side effects or prasad by mother.
