छोटा परिवार सुखी परिवार – A popular meme (a cultural unit (an idea, value or pattern of behavior) that is passed from one person to another by non-genetic means) promoted by Govt of India to control population. We have chapters to this effect in our textbooks. Lot of advertising promoting small families. A fundamental meme behind current middle class of India. Outcome is nuclear family. Idea was not about nuclear family but small blood line.
Due to this grave misunderstanding, Indian society is on the way of becoming American society or Westernized or Globalized society. Weak social links. Except selfish interest, no one now gathers as family. People do not unite for social cause. They are least bothered about their duties towards society and nation. That is real aftershock of small confined family system.
Large families = Joint Families = Prosperity = Time and Effort distribution = Helping each other = less work load on women and children
Joint families, Jati Samaj, Guilds, communities, Village.
Root is when uprooted, i.e. family system, it is very easy to control Nation. It has happened post-1947. Rigorously. Think about it. Are we really free?
