Convenience food, or tertiary processed food, is commercially prepared food designed for ease of consumption.Products designated as convenience foods are often prepared food stuffs that can be sold as hot, ready-to-eat dishes; as room-temperature, shelf-stable products; or as refrigerated or frozen products that require minimal preparation (typically just heating).

What type of Convenience is this? Why are we so lack of time that we cannot even serve fresh food to self?

In Kullu valley, I had a chance to ride with local farmer(In 2010). Apples with rough and ugly shape/skin go to newly flourished food processing shops while apples with beautiful skin (of course chemically processed for exact shape and color desire of a urban buyer) come in our shops. He advised, ‘sahab, Apple khana band kar do. Package mein bhi jehar hai aur package ke baahar bhi…’

Under the age old stereotype cover i.e. :”We encourage any XYZ food industry to help the poor farmers”, Govt put middle men with hefty cash (to start food processing plant and retail chains) in between farms and homes, and change citizens habits to eat more frozen packaged foods.

Who will be benefitted?

>> Big retail
>> Doctors
>> Pharmacy

Certainly, not you and me.
