Diet, Myth

There is this famous Bollywood actor, who is known for spreading mind viruses. His presentation is so powerful that mass penetration of his subtle viruses is very easy.

In his recent movie, he injected one of the most idiotic myth i.e. You need to eat non-vegetarian diet for extra supplemental protein.

I, myself, athlete, marathon runner, football player once, never had to rely on non-veg for protein. There are at least 50 superior athletes than me known to me, from my city, all vegetarians. My coach, in his 50s, can easily beat anyone on ground, in any sports, even of less than half of his age. He is vegetarian.

There are plenty of international examples too. We have our own Medalist wrestlers.

Beware of such viruses.

For food, always look to your grand-parents. Go local. Even when you are on special mission, local food can arrange all needs.

Science of diet is not so simpleton and reductionist as modern science and dietitians treat it.

This myth of high protein diet is now penetrated so deep that my JAIN friends (traditionally hardcore vegetarians) now eat Eggs and blissfully justify it with half-baked rational arguments.

Modern doctor prescribes Eggs for vegetarian kids.

To wrongly suggest that people need to eat animal protein for proper nutrition encourages consumption of foods known to contribute to the incidence of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, many forms of cancer, and other common health problems.
