All Purnima days in Hindu calendar are significant as Purnima days either coincides with important festivals or Jayanti days in the calendar.

Apart from festivals and Jayanti days, many families traditionally observe a day long fast on Purnimasi days in the year. Full moon days are also very significant to perform Satya Narayana Puja.

Phalguna Purnima, which is the last Purnima of the year, is no exception. Holi the one of the most significant and popular Hindu festivals is observed during Phalguna Purnima. The day also coincides with Lakshmi Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Hindu Goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Holi

In Kathakgrhyasutra, there is a sutra “Raka Holake”. Commentator Devapala interpret as the festival performed for the saubhagya of women and the Raka (full moon) is the deity.

True, moon = Saubhagya

And there are other moon festivals and Vrtas. Like करवा चौथ.

All with one common objective – अखंड सौभाग्य blessing for the participant.

I surrender to female counterparts in family who are under the influence of modern mediums, with war perception. To fight against the natural cycle and work and prove that I CAN (Just like sanitary pad ads) !!

I surrendered so far as I do not believe in forcing anyone to alter life. This post will help a lot! To give fresh perspective to young females in family. 🙂you should also read.

चन्द्रमा मनसो जातश्चक्षोः सूर्यो अजायत ।

Moon represents universal mind (and Sun universal eye). As soon as the child is born from the womb, it is the moon that makes the child breathe as per moon’s position in janma-nakshtra. As long as we are alive, it is moon governed chandra nadi that keeps the life’s time cycle in motion in Muladhara chakra.

Just as the moon keeps the time-cycle of our universe in motion, it is the moon that keeps time-cycle of the human body in motion.

Moon governs our cycles. When cycles are in sync with the moon, सौभाग्य is natural.

  1. I seek to know more in the context of चौथ व्रत..
    How moon governs our body
Have been explaining them like moon governs the tides , the earth is 75% water,
Similarly Our body is also 75% water
    उसी तरह उद्वेग आता है शांति रहती है
But seek to define it better for Teej Vrat ( we have it this 14th August)
    Chauth Vrat ( 12 mahine)
Amavasya, Poornima, Ekadashi as what I know all these tithis have their importance on mind and body due to the impact of moon
