It is welcome sign to see so many educated youth running online forums, keeping focus on future of Bharat. The future of India has in recent times been the subject of discussion among many thinkers. It is happy moment that they have a keen desire to think on the problem and indicate the lines on which it should be approached. Some of them have already expressed their views which throw much light on the various aspects of the subject as well as on the present trend of our thinking public. It seems that the India of tomorrow has entered their imagination. Many of them believe that for India to live and grow into the fullness of her being, a better social order must be built on principles of justice and equity, and completely free from any kind of social and economic inequality. The problem of India, according to them, is the problem of bread, and an India well-fed and well-clothed will be an India happy and contented. Religion and spirituality are, in their opinion, hindrances to social progress, and are therefore tabooed in their scheme. Some speak of a new civilization(!) altogether! Some are religiously believing in ‘Back to past’ with no modern ways of living! Some of them wants only a overhaul of political system i.e. democratic reforms in terms of procedures and laws.

What struck me hard in all these ways is that they do not properly appreciate Spiritual heritage, far less recognize its importance to her future building. And it is unfortunate that even an attitude of disdain is sometimes betrayed towards the spiritual genius of India which has all along been, and still is, the motive-force of her life and culture. The vision that India saw of the Infinite, the immortal truths that she discovered, the culture that she built up on her profound spiritual experiences have not only enriched beyond measure but have given its value, character and distinction to her civilization. It is therefore imperative that in a discussion of what the civilization of India is going to be in the future, the very first thought should go to that essential basis of her culture, the dominant tendency of her soul.

May we do not ignore essential imperatives this time. Let us not repeat the mistake of living on extreme ends.

I hope this will be taken in positive spirit.
